Siege on Notre Dame

A mass of vagabonds have gathered around the Notre Dame cathedral. Two people have been identified as Clopin Trouillefou and Jehan (brother of Dom Claude Frollo). La Esmeralda is inside Notre Dame and is using it as a sanctuary. It is believed that these vagabonds are trying to rescue the witch but no one knows why. It is also known that Pierre Gringoire, an unsuccessful playwright and official wife of the witch Esmeralda, is present with the group of vagabonds.

Quasimodo, savior of Esmeralda and bell-ringer of the Notre Dame cathedral, is trying to counter the massive attacks from the vagabonds. He tried throwing items at them and pouring lead into the gutters. Although Quasimodo was successful in fending off the vagabonds, he was unsuccessful in saving La Esmeralda as the vagabonds got away with her. Although deaf Quasimodo also wants to ensure safety and security for Esmeralda, Quasimodo was unable to realize that these vagabonds want the same thing due to his impairment.
